Sami Hedberg’s 20th Anniversary Tour culminates this autumn!
Celebrating his 20-year career in comedy, Sami Hedberg will bring his anniversary year to a close this autumn with 22 performances. The tour, which kicked off in March at Helsinki’s Aleksanterin Theatre, has been a great success, with most shows selling out.
“Stand-up came into my life out of the blue when I participated in the Get up, stand up show in 2005. I got hooked from those first laughs, and here I still am. Winning gave me confidence and excitement that led to even bigger dreams,” Hedberg recalls about the beginning of his career.
Since then, Hedberg has steadily become one of Finland’s top stand-up comedians, building his own Hedberg Live production company and producing thousands of events around the country. One of the key turning points early in his career was evolving from performer to artist, with his first solo show Kokovartalomies (“Full-Body Man”)—which eventually became a DVD (2009) and expanded into a successful tour.
Career highlights also include a sold-out show at Hartwall Arena in 2013, the record-breaking 365 Tour in 2015 with 365 shows in one year (still listed in the Guinness Book of Records), and the first-ever stand-up performance at Tampere’s Nokia Arena in 2023.
In addition to stand-up, Hedberg has appeared in films and TV series (e.g. the Reunion films, Masked Singer Finland winner), but he sees himself continuing on the stand-up stage.
I’ve always pictured myself on stage at 70 – so there’s still a bit more than another 20 years ahead,” Sami says about his future.
